Zeata Ann Witheril, 81, of Guilford, formerly of Hamden, passed away August 26, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of 62 years to the late Eugene A. Witheril, and is survived by her loving children, Linda Kasowitz and her husband Marvin of West Haven, Patrick Witheril and his wife Denise of Guilford and Peggy Choiniere and her husband Ed of Bethany, grandchildren, Kate Kasowitz and her husband Frank McCarty, Allison Romanoff and her husband John, Jill Kasowitz, Meghan Witheril, Stefanie Benoit and her husband Joseph, Sydney Witheril, Matthew & Timothy Eckman, EJ, Cherilyn, Billy, Michael, and Joey Choiniere. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Grace McCarty, Charlotte Romanoff, Amelie Choiniere, Luke Benoit, and Ella Witheril, and lifelong best friends Joanne & Dick Westphal of FL and her puppy Daisy. Loving sister of Billy Buetow of Pollack Pines, CA, and Mitzi Slater of Stewart, FL. Mrs. Witheril was predeceased by her infant son Gerald Witheril, and 2 brothers George Straube and Tommy Buetow. Zeata was born in Racine, WI, Oct. 23, 1932 a daughter of the late George Straube and Maxine Buetow and had resided in Hamden for many years. She was employed by the Thompson Agency of Farmington and the Monarch Insurance Agency of Orange prior to her retirement. Zeata will be remembered for her ageless beauty, her radiant smile ,her kind heart and her ability to light up any room she entered. She found unending joy in loving her children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She will be sadly missed but cherished memories of her will last forever. Interment service in Beaverdale Memorial Park will be private.
